Abstract

RIBEIRO, José da Silva. Digital Ethnography and distance learning. Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.3, pp.459-474. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271991862.

Anthropology is not a science of the distant and exotic societies, not even of the small communities or simple societies. Shifted from thematic source, “repatriated”, anthropology focuses its research in complex societies and in new fields, new issues and particularly on the issues of change. We propose to introduce a program of research and teaching in digital anthropology / virtual anthropology, exploring the environments, cultures and online communities such field as anthropological object designed to adapt research methods to the new social and cultural dynamics that emerge in these situations of the digital age.

Keywords : Society; Culture; Digital age; Digital anthropology.
