Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe a narrative from my entry in the Graduate Program in Education of the Federal University of São Carlos PPGE/UFSCar as a doctoral student in the History, Philosophy and Sociology of Education line. A brief history of the program is initially presented. Three thematic axes were used: period of enrollment and admission, main difficulties observed, contributions of the program and conclusion. The narrative was used because it is a requirement of said magazine as well as because we understand its descriptive relevance by exposing experiences and facts for analysis and understanding of a unique reality within a social context. The conclusion is that PPGE/UFSCar has contributed singularly in my training as a researcher and teacher as well as in my professional practice currently linked to basic education, expanding my possibilities of professional intervention and enrichment of critical cultural capital.
