The recent refugee crisis caused by the closure of European borders to political refugees coming from Syria and other war zones represents the culmination of the neoliberal migratory regime and, at the same time, its endpoint. The subordinated and precarious integration of migrants in the neoliberal labor markets had led to policies of illegalization and vulnerabilization, but now we assist to an almost complete rejection of migratory flows. This rejection is one of the most obvious signs of the deep crisis of the capitalist system and reveals the failure of the European political project of human rights.
