Abstract

ANDRE, Marli; CALIL, Ana Maria Gimenes Corrêa; MARTINS, Francine de Paulo  and  PEREIRA, Marli Amélia Lucas. The role of the other in the constitution of the professionalism of beginning teacher. Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2017, vol.11, n.2, pp.505-520. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271992231.

This paper focuses on the process of constructing the professionalism of beginning teachers, trying to identify the main challenges faced in their daily practices in early childhood education and in the first years of basic education. It also analyzes the elements that affect the identity and professional development of these teachers. The methodological procedures involved four discussion groups with graduates from the pedagogy course of three universities and a faculty in the state of São Paulo. The data collected showed that the relationships undertaken in the daily school life, whether with the students’ parents, the school managers, the more experienced colleagues or the students, have a considerable weight in the constitution of the professionalism of these teachers and affect their professional identity.
