Abstract

SILVA, Marcus Vinicius Cesso da  and  FERRAZ, Renato Ribeiro Nogueira. ENADE application as a tool for student performance assessment in a Pedagogy course. Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.1, pp.74-89. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271991968.

This paper aims to present the importance of the implementation of the National Student Performance Exam (ENADE) as a strategic tool for the assessment of student performance in the course of Pedagogy, enabling the Higher Education Institution (HEI) to understand the students’ profile and improve the quality of its educational services. Upon two structured applications executed by ENADE, dedicated to understanding the socioeconomic profile of students and students´ performance in relation to the syllabus of the course, a final report was obtained that allowed HEI to analyze student performance and contribute to their institutional process of evaluation. This study presents a qualitative approach to documentary analysis that were used the last reports provided by Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (INEP) as a form of student performance evolution in the latest periods evaluated by ENADE of a course of Pedagogy in a private HEI of Guarulhos - SP (Brazil). It is reinforced that with the analyzed information, the HEI can make improvements that benefit students, generate better quality indicators of the course and bring more information to help accountability to Brazilian agencies for assessing the quality of higher education.
