LIRA, Jaílton de Souza  e  HERMIDA, Jorge Fernando. Management, financing and (de)valuation of education in Alagoas (2007-2014). Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.1, pp.132-150. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271992031.

This article analyzes the consequences of the Vilela Filho administration (2007-2010 and 2011-2014) for state public education in Alagoas (Brazil) in the context of the political, economic and social conjuncture resulting from the process of reformulation of the capitalist system in the midst of its structural crisis initiated in the last decades. In Alagoas public education, it specifically investigates the consequences of public policies of a neoliberal nature implemented in the quality of education, in the management and financing model implemented, in the training and valuation of education professionals, and in reflecting on the effective working conditions of these professionals. From the methodological point of view, this is a qualitative, documentary and methodological research using the contributions of historical-dialectical materialism. The study concludes that the educational policies of the Vilela Filho government were against the policies approved by the Federal Government in this period. While the Federal Government expanded its sphere of state action with greater attention to social policies - with all the contradictions already indicated regarding macroeconomic policy - in Alagoas the neoliberal policies of the Vilela Filho government concretized a blatant attack on the rights of public servants, with the support of the hegemonic groups that controlled the significant majority of public and private apparatuses, among them the Legislative Assembly, the Judiciary, most municipal governments and the mass media.
