This paper intends to analyze the trajectory of Diadorim as an expression of the dialectic formation of the subject. For such, we discuss Diadorim´s (Reinaldo) central role in the actions of Riobaldo, and their friendship relation. The complexity of the relation between two peers (jagunços), who differ in gender, suggests the otherness (their love). Diadorim poses the dialectic which subjective formation demands in face of the varied situations which the individual has to go through in life.
