Abstract

FERNANDES, Dorgival Gonçalves. Modern student youth in the confluence of contemporaneity. Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.3, pp.776-791. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271992072.

This paper, elaborated as part of our research developed in the postdoctoral internship at the College of Education at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, aims to think the constitution of the student youth in the context of social, political and cultural transformations that mark the contemporaneity, considering it as a period of crisis, transition and alleged ruptures. Theoretically it takes as inspiration the thought of Michel Foucault, focusing in the notion of discipline, governmentality and subjectivation. In its elaboration, we evidenced some constitutive traces of the student youth in the modernity and in the confluence of it with the present time characterization, we discussed the youth conceptualization from the student condition, demarked in the 1960’s contestatory movements, and, lastly, we pointed out the implications brought by the mutations which affect and constitute the contemporaneity, problematizing some of the new challenges that affects the formation and the governing of the student youth in the plan of the educational politics and in the schooling field in modern temporality.
