The present work, a part of an already completed Master's thesis, presents an analysis about the process of musical creation, and seek to understand its possible origins and development in the light of historical-cultural psychology. This theoretical research aimed to bring the contributions of this theory to music education, specifically in relation to the issue of creation. In addition to the theoretical discussion, which confronts the ideas of authors from the perspective assumed with common sense and other theoretical approaches on the subject, five methodological reflections are presented-which should not be taken as mandatory procedures to be followed - that we believe can provide directions for an effective creative practice in music teaching.
