Senses, sensibilities and work: the education for action in Italian immigrants experience in Paraná: late of 19th and beginning of 20th. Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2015, vol.14, n.2, pp.569-585. The work aims to understand the Italian immigrants experience in colonies around Curitiba be- tween the final years of 19th and early the 20th. Specifically, we observed some rhetorical about Brazilian society reform in initiatives related with the education of the senses, with emphasis in work. The analysis of documentation encouraged dialogue with the distinction proposed by Hannah Arendt between work and labor in the construction of active life, considerations by EP Thompson about utilitarianism and moral economy and the reflections by R. Williams about fee- lings structure. We try to show, contemplated the experience of immigrants, large ways to educate the body senses as basic premise of the ethos of work, contrary to current theory in the literature, which refers the idea of labor training for the nascent Brazilian industrial world.
