SA, Jauri dos Santos. Architecture of schools in Barcelona in the twentieth century: memories of education. Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2015, vol.14, n.2, pp.619-637. Epub 06-Dez-2015. ISSN 1982-7806. https://doi.org/10.14393/che-v14n2-2015-619.
Analyzes the different stages that the architecture of schools experience in Barcelona throughout the twentieth century. The clipping shows, through a chronological order, the evolution of the school building from a literature and document review, featuring the architectural production that conditioned and solidified the public slope present in the city. The first third of the twentieth century records the course of a stage of slow roll, topped with a decade of high development, but with traumatic end. In the second third, more well into the 80s, public education experiences a weakened period of slow growth that ends with a decade in which it can be observed the pedagogical renaissance and deep changes in educational policy. The last third begins with the effective management of the education system by the Generalitat de Catalunya, opening an era of mass production of new schools.
