Abstract

BIZZOCCHI, Carlos Eduardo. Renewed Educational Experiences in the State of São Paulo - The eight-year continuous teaching system and the school practices in “Experimental da Lapa” School (1961 - 1971). Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2016, vol.15, n.2, pp.540-558. ISSN 1982-7806.  https://doi.org/10.14393/che-v15n2-2016-5.

The Primary School called “Dr. Edmundo de Carvalho” Experimental School, also known as “Experimental da Lapa” School, was one of the references in experimental education among the several experiments during the 1960s and 1970s in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, mainly after an experimental education system called “classes experimentais” were established. There is evidence of the Escola Nova (New School) influence on this institution since 1939, although “Experimental da Lapa” was applied in an appropriate and adapted manner during the time in which the school tried the eight-year continuous teaching system.

Keywords : Experimental da Lapa School; Experimental Classes; New School.
