Abstract

CHIZZOTTI, Antonio. History and presentness of Human and Social Sciences. Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2016, vol.15, n.2, pp.599-613. ISSN 1982-7806.  https://doi.org/10.14393/che-v15n2-2016-8.

This paper is a historical retrospect of ideas and of authors who built the scientific foundations of the human sciences and brought innovative contributions, revealing the relevance and presentness of these sciences to the understanding of the scientific and social dimensions of human life. This text has elected, for each period, new products and concepts that have shaken the relevance of dominant theories and, thanks to the human sciences, new horizons for the construction of human existence are revealed. If, in some institutional strongholds, the obsession of the utility and the exacerbation of competition give little relevance to the human sciences, it is of urgence to reaffirm how much they were and are indispensable in today’s world for the construction of the diversity of life. And, in a globalized world period, they are called upon to open ways to understand and act on the universal realization of life.

Keywords : Human Sciences; History; Present Time.
