This text analyzes shades of education itineraries and practices lived in primary schools of Caxias do Sul/RS from memories of teachers who were born in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Having as a point of departure selection of interviews of five teachers, all of them educated to act as teachers in primary schools, the aim is to understand education and action, knowledge and techniques, which recalled, can allow understanding historic nuances of schooling. The set of seven interviews, laws, newspapers, newsletters, minutes, letters, and reports, composes the empiric field that, with the theoretical support of Cultural History, allows addressing education actions of teachers between the years of 1920 and 1960, between education and action.
