Abstract

This research has as priority sources the manuals from the portuguese teaching to the high school series, edited in the 1940s and 1950s by authors from the state of São Paulo, who preached the learning of grammar from literary texts. The collection "Páginas Floridas", written by Francisco Silveira Bueno, edited by Livraria Acadêmica, Saraiva e Cia and the "Coleção Didática do Brasil - Série Ginasial- Português ", signed by Aída Costa were selected as examples to the understanding of the circulation from new patterns didactics used by teacher-authors who occupied important positions in the educational field of São Paulo and mobilized different strategies. The purpose of the study was to contribute to the History of the Teaching Profession and to the History of School Disciplines by unveiling the trajectory of these authors, who disseminated the teaching of Portuguese and Literature, from collections which had national circulation.
