Resumen

CHAVES, Bráulio Silva. Perspectives on intellectual mobility: the confluence between Brazil and Argentina in Luis Reissig's education project (1940-1960). Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2017, vol.16, n.2, pp.348-373. ISSN 1982-7806.  https://doi.org/10.14393/che-v16n2-2017-3.

This study investigates the intellectual confluence between Brazil and Argentina through Luis Reissig's (1897-1972) work and ideas. It concerns the approximation of the so-called escolanovistas (Brazilian New School supporters) and their education reformation project, together with the ideas of Reissig, an Argentinean intellectual, which emphasize the revolutionary character of education when it is thought over from the technique point of view, from the need for popular education that considers the relation between the human being and the environment as a required condition for development in the said "age of technology". Intellectual History is used as a theoretical reference in the reflection on the mediation established and arising from historical sources, such as the Manifesto dos educadores: Mais uma Vez Convocados, 1959 (Educators' manifesto: Called up Again) and some work by Reissig and his correspondence with Brazilian intellectual circles, which reveals the intellectual mobility effervescence around a Brazilian and a Latin American development project.

Palabras clave : Luis Reissig; New School Supporters; Technical Education.
