Abstract

MANCINI, Ana Paula Gomes  and  MONARCHA, Carlos. Rural school in Brazil (1930-1950). The Eighth Brazilian Congress of Education. Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2017, vol.16, n.3, pp.700-715. ISSN 1982-7806.  https://doi.org/10.14393/che-v16n3-2017-9.

The reflections presented in this article result from the researches I have been doing on education and their schooling process in the Old Republic in MatoGrosso from 1930 to 1950. Through studies of the history of education, I highlight the political, cultural, social and educational relevance in the discussions on the ruralization of primary education in Brazil during the Eighth Brazilian Congress of Education in Goiania/GO in 1942. The main source was the annals of the event. They were organized by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, published in 1944. The Regulation of the previously mentioned Congress, the minutes of the meetings of the Brazilian Association of Education and related readings contributed to the theoretical underpinning of this reflection .
