Abstract

MAGALHAES, Justino. Municipalities and History of Education. Cad. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2019, vol.18, n.1, pp.9-20.  Epub May 06, 2019. ISSN 1982-7806.  https://doi.org/10.14393/che-v18n1-2019-2a.

The history of education has opened itself to new themes, to scientific domains under construction, to inter and transdisciplinary perspectives, through education (as a field of representation, research and action, vast and polysemic) and by the epistemology. The history of municipalities in education has been constituting a historiographical area where different times and different frameworks of action, ordered by the centrality of the place and normalized by the political, administrative, and educational institutions, have crossed. There is a municipal institutionality. The municipality's sovereignty associated with the developmental perspective, reconciling identity and socio-cultural mobilization, found in education a socio-cultural basis of customs, values and practices, and at school a means of integration and normalization, which configure local authority as a pedagogical municipality. In this text, after a systematization of some historiographic lines, I make a brief reference to the History of Municipalities in Education.

Keywords : History of Education; History of Municipalities in Education; Pedagogical municipality; Atlas-Repertory; Municipalism; Municipal Institutionality.
