Abstract

The research aimed to analyzing the relationship between the styles of conflict resolution adopted by the teachers and the students' ways of acting facing conflicts between peers and the possible incidence of bullying in two classes of the early years of two elementary public schools in a city in the interior of São Paulo state. The methodology is quantitative and qualitative approach, which approximates a case study. For data collection, observations were conducted in two classrooms, a form was filled up for characterization of socio moral environments and two questionnaires were applied to students: one with stories of hypothetical conflicts based on Vicentin; another on bullying, inspired in Olweus and Ortega-Mora and Mora Merchán’s instruments. It became evident that interpersonal relationships established in school, especially in the classroom, form a determined environment socio moral and influence the way the students interact and solve conflicts, as well as, the possible practice of bullying.
