Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Marcos Antonio de  and  DALMAGRO, Sandra Luciana. Agrarian issues, rural education and competing projects. Rev. Reflex [online]. 2014, vol.22, n.2, pp.94-119. ISSN 1982-9949.  https://doi.org/10.17058/rea.v22i2.0094.

This article focuses on agrarian issues in Brazil and analyzes different and even opposing perspectives to apprehend rural education. By considering the state policies and PhD dissertations defended by both members of the Rural Education Movement and the Academy, one can demonstrate that there are at least three conceptions of rural education and conclude that the perspective dictated by the state is expanding and hegemonizing. This hegemony happens in line with the predominance of the capitalist form of production and the appropriation and misrepresentation of the proposals for Rural Education Movement which guides beyond the current social order.

Keywords : Rural Education; Agrarian Issues; Class Struggle.
