This text is the cut of a doctoral research that aims to present the contribution of cartography in the development of research, socializing some results. Today’s garden is a metaphorical way of referring to the area of study of this work: the field of education. The theme of the research is related to the continuing education of science teachers who work in school laboratories called here flower-theme. In the today’s garden, the researcher carries the flower-theme in hands and for its cultivation follows some clues of the cartography, theoretical-methodological reference point of the work. After the explanation of the clues that guided the development of the theme flower, we see that the cartography contributed to the access to the collective plan of forces and to the formation of the common plan, data produced in the meetings with the science teachers of the municipality of Uberlândia-MG, the flower-teachers of the today’s garden.
