Abstract

FIGUEIREDO, José Wnilson  and  FRANTZ, Walter. (Re) building school and society from Paulo Freire’s epistemology. Rev. Reflex [online]. 2018, vol.26, n.1, pp.39-52. ISSN 1982-9949.  https://doi.org/10.17058/rea.v26i1.8936.

This article aims to open a conversation about the relevance of Paulo Freire´s theory and practice for the current time with a view to building another School and another society, based on the cooperation among human beings. To do so, we use the categories of ethics and dialogue, found in Freire´s epistemology, as pillars for the (re)construction of possible ways to the emergence of an education based on the person as a being open to the community and to the other, and whose first objective is the implantation of a civilization founded on a solidarity reason, in substitution of the current hegemony of the competitive neoliberal reason.

Keywords : Education; Dialogue; Ethics; Neoliberal Reason.
