There are many reflections around the character of the analogies as a didactic instrument in the construction of the knowledge, having many authors dedicated to study this subject, as a form to improve and develop the information that have already been researched. This work has evidenced the analogies presented in didactics books of high school's biology, searching what are the analogies and also in what category they are encountered. In conclusion, through the results of this research, was analyzed the worth of the analogies presented in didactic books as an instrument in biology education.
