ASSUMPCAO, Adriana M.  e  GOUVEA, Guaracira. ENUNCIATIVE PRACTICES IN A POPULAR SCIENCE EVENT IN A SCIENCE MUSEUM IN RIO DE JANEIRO. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2010, vol.12, n.2, pp.49-68. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172010120204.

Enunciations produced in a thematic event aimed to promote science, entitled "Storytellers from the Museum of Life", have been ana lyzed within the perspective of language studies. This event is part of the actions developed by the Reading and Science Program, monthly held at Fundação Oswaldo Cruz. The storytellers performed literary texts in a scenography related to the topic. Moreover, a guest from the institution (a researcher or a science promoter) is invited to talk about the subject in fif teen to twenty minutes, as a debate with the audience follows. Video records from the event have been used for the empirical analysis. Focusing on the qualitative and interpretive approach, we were inspired by studies of Mikhail Bakhtin, considering the dialogical nature of language and emphasizing aspects such as the sphere of human communication, the presence of clichés, and the meanings conveyed by enunciators when pro ducing utterances. We conclude that, in this area of communication, the enunciations are predominantly built up through colloquial language, eventually marked by the lexicon of scientific language.
