Abstract

SCHWARTZ, Luziane Beyruth  and  REZENDE, Flavia. QUALITY OF SCIENCE EDUCATION IN THE VOICE OF TEACHERS FROM SECONDARY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2013, vol.15, n.3, pp.73-95. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172013150305.

The aim of this study was to investigate how teachers of professional technical education build perspectives on the quality of science education as practice guidelines. The data analyzed resulted from interviews with a chemistry teacher and a biology teacher who taught in distinct federal technical schools of Rio de Janeiro. The analysis is based on concepts from Mikhail Bakhtin's philosophy of language. Both teachers primarily appropriate the perspective of quality of science education which is dominant in their institutional context. According to Taís, the quality is in line with the training for the job market. In the speech of Cleo, the quality is the subject of combating the utilitarian conception of science education and in defense of integral formation.

Keywords : Quality of science education; professional technical education; Bakhtinian discourse analysis..
