Abstract

BARTELMEBS, Roberta Chiesa. Psychogenesis and history of science: elements for a constructivist epistemology. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.2, pp.147-165. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172014160208.

The purpose of this article is to draw a parallel between psychogenesis and history of science Piaget and Garcia with science education work from a constructivist epistemology, derived mainly from Genetic Epistemology. The book, first published in 1983, embodies the synthesis of his epistemological investigations on the development of science through the history of science with the development of intelligence through the psychogenesis. The purpose of the book, however, is not to compare the history of science with the development of psychogenetic subject, but rather to understand the mechanisms of evolution of pre - scientific ideas in children through Genetic Epistemology. In this sense, the authors present a constructivist epistemology, which, in our view, can serve as a basis for the understanding of science education contributing reflections on the processes of teaching and learning in the classroom.

Keywords : Psychogenesis; History of Science; Constructivist Epistemology.
