Periodicals are essential to the analysis and comprehension of the scientific trends. This investigation aimed at identifying what two of the most important periodicals about science publish on science education, under which perspectives and in which section of the periodical they are published. We conducted a survey on the number of articles published between 2006 and 2010 and we were able to identify 31 texts in Nature magazine whereas Science published 163 articles on science education. Science magazine concentrated more on the politics (investments) on/from science education followed by the teaching and learning approach, new methods and resources. Nature magazine the category the relation between science and religion were more frequent. The proposal of the research is to enhance discussion and lead to common projects between basic scientific areas and research on science education.
