Abstract

SILVA, Fábio Augusto Rodrigues e; LISBOA, Débora do Prado; OLIVEIRA, Denise do Prado Lisboa  and  COUTINHO, Francisco Ângelo. ACTOR-NETWORK THEORY, LITERATURE AND EDUCATION IN SCIENCE: A SOCIEOTECHNICAL NETWORK MATERIALIZATION PROPOSITION FOR THE CLASSROOM. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2016, vol.18, n.1, pp.47-64. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172016180101.

The paper presents the actor-network theory with an approach that allows us to understand the complexity of scientific knowledge's socio-material production network. As an example, we analyze Machado de Assis' short story "O alienista". Methodologically, the paper searches to identify the characters and the entities by describing their actions and associations. With the report's production, we also intend to explore how Machado de Assis reveals the way in which scientific knowledge is used as a power and domination tool. We hope our analysis make the construction of teaching strategies that use Machado de Assis' short stories possible, as a way of understanding the processes of producing science.
