Abstract

KREUGER, Sarah Berrios  and  RAMOS, Paula. Conceptions of citizenship in science education: the opinion of political-pedagogical projects and of the teachers of Municipal Schools of Petrópolis - RJ. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2017, vol.19, pp.556-578. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172017190132.

This study aims to examine the re-significations of conceptions of citizenship in Science education, in the texts of the Pedagogic Political Projects (PPP) and in the perception of the Science teachers of four schools in the municipality of Petrópolis. We seek to investigate the integration of these PPP in the practice of Science teachers, based on the reference of the policies cycle and re-contextualization. We analyse the PPP’s texts and the interviews with the teachers, using the Bardin’s thematic content analysis. The investigated PPP have presented a theoretical bias and little linked to the reality of these teachers and these, in general, have presented a conception of citizenship compatible with liberal political theory, denoting challenges in teaching Science from a citizen perspective.
