Abstract

OLIVEIRA, CAROLINE BARRONCAS DE  and  SILVA-FORSBERG, MARIA CLARA. THE USE OF NARRATIVES IN TEACHING EDUCATION RESEARCH IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, e14867.  Epub Mar 05, 2020. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/21172020210102.

This paper analyzes the theoretical and methodological aspects present in narrative researches in / about Teacher Education in Science and Mathematics Education, from 2007 to 2018. To this end, a literature review research was carried out in the electronic bases of eleven journals, where 54 articles addressing the theme were found and, after filtering, 29 were selected and classified by the types of instruments and techniques in data collection and also analytical treatment. Thereby, it could be seen that the use of narratives is distinguished by narrative as an investigative method or strategy, and by two types of narrative data treatment, which can be either paradigmatic or narrative. It is notable the urgency of narrative research to have greater clarity and theoretical-methodological foundation when developing them.

Keywords : Narrative Research; Teacher training; Science and Mathematics Education.
