Abstract

DUBRULL, Davi Saldanha  and  DECCACHE-MAIA, Eline. PRODUCTION PROCESSES OF EXHIBITIONS IN A SCIENCE MUSEUM: THE MAST AS AN EXAMPLE. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2021, vol.23, e25326.  Epub Mar 12, 2021. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172021230110.

This article analyzes the production process of exhibitions as a museum educational and communication tool. As an example, this article uses the exhibitions by one of the most egregious Brazilian institutes for science promotion, the Museum of Astronomy and Related Subjects (MAST). From a qualitative research method, which involved semi-structured interviews, it was possible to observe several steps and intentionalities that are part of the production of exhibitions, using models of traditional, emergent and in-transition museums as analysis parameters. The results obtained point out that the production processes of MAST exhibitions are in transition between the traditional and the emergent models.

Keywords : Exhibition; Science Museum; Museum in transition.
