Abstract

CHEFER, Claudiane  and  OLIVEIRA, André Luis de. ASTROBIOLOGY IN THE CONTEXT OF SCIENCE teaching IN BRAZIL: WORLDVIEWS OF RESEARCHERS AND TEACHERS IN THE AREA. Ens. Pesqui. Educ. Ciênc. [online]. 2022, vol.24, e39005.  Epub Oct 20, 2022. ISSN 1983-2117.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-21172022240125.

Within the scope of a master’s dissertation, we sought to structure understandings about Astrobiology in the context of science teaching in Brazil in the face of the cosmovision of researchers and teachers working in Basic or Higher Education in the country. To this end, through the phenomenological analysis of the individual and collective discourses of six research collaborators, transcribed and described from recorded and written interviews, we aimed to weave cosmovisions about the elements that structure astrobiology in the context of Brazilian science teaching. With these movements, three nuclei of ideas were articulated, namely: potential for the construction of scientific knowledge (NI1); institutional, ontological, and epistemological challenges (NI2); and perspectives and possibilities in the national scenario (NI3). Sure enough, an emerging field of science that demands a multidisciplinary approach would face challenges and obstacles to be incorporated into national science teaching. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that there are already possibilities and potentialities that can be explored in this context
