Abstract

This paper refers to the contemporary studies of childhood, having as central field the research with infants. Conceptually, we assume for babies the design established in legislation and in the academic area on early childhood, from birth up to 36 months. The paper was situated in the interface of the experiences of the babies and their enunciations made possible by the scenic activities that we assumed and denominated as theater with babies. The theater with babies consisted of offering an environment thought to receive them, creating a social situation in which their creative activities were potentialized. The methodological approach used was the research with babies, in the kindergarten space in a school in the city of Niterói and the research conclusions are linked to the potency that the theater with babies promotes in the interaction with and among the scenic props. The utterances of babies from the scenic offer directly linked to the act of playing promote unrepeatable events and therefore bearers of experiences that enable their protagonism.
