The present study had as objective to verify the satisfaction with the course of students of public and private universities of the State of Rio de Janeiro. A questionnaire with open questions about the subject applied to 78 students from different areas of knowledge was used as instrument. For the data analysis the Iramuteq program was used to analyze the Hierarchical Descending Classification. The results pointed to a difference in the perception of the students of these institutions about topics such as curricular curriculum, management of the university, work opportunity and the qualification of teachers.
