Abstract

MOURA, Filipe Antônio Araújo  and  NUNES, Andrea Karla Ferreira. MATHEMATICS TEACHING IN THE 21ST CENTURY: D'AMBROSIO AND DIGITAL MEDIATION. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2023, n.67, e24271.  Epub Feb 19, 2024. ISSN 1983-9278.  https://doi.org/10.5585/eccos.n67.24271.

This article aims to reflect on the Teaching of Mathematics and its impacts exerted by the digital context in contemporary times. Based on the contributions of D'Ambrosio (2011, 2009) we seek to make inferences that allow us to understand the role of the Mathematics teacher and the challenges arising from the major changes in the Education scenario in Brazil and in the world. In a qualitative paradigm, this is an exploratory and documentary research in the methodological scope, while bibliographical surveys are carried out, according to Coutinho (2014), and concatenations are built regarding teacher training from Tardif (2014) and Freire (2021). It was verified that Ubiratan D'Ambrosio, at the time, already hinted at the profound changes to come within education, in particular, with regard to human behavior and its dialogue in the face of advances in the teaching of Mathematics, a discipline impacted in a fundamental way by the new digital information and communication technologies.
