Abstract

The essay intends to reflect on the need for the subject Philosophy to definitively form part of the High School curriculum. To this end, it is preceded by research into the academic production of philosophy teaching in high school. The next step, circumscribes the issue of humanities, since the resumption of studia humanitatis by Renaissance humanists. Then, as a result of an interview, it exposes the opinions of two high school students, from public and private schools. Afterwards, the considerations of a public school teacher, who analyzes the reasons for this need and its difficulties. Finally, it analyzes the effects of neo-fascism in the field of education, using a psychoanalytic approach.
