This article discusses some of the research data "Youth Cultures and Education: a study with young students from public schools in Santa Maria that departed from the formative processes" which aimed to understand the process of removal the young school students. The quantitative and qualitative ethnographic research used different techniques for generating the data: questionnaire, observation, interviews, focus groups and document analysis. The factors that contribute to the removal the students are numerous, in this article will be discussed some of them: lack of dialogue between the school and youth cultures; neglects the importance of intellectual activity for the students producing another form of exclusion; Items that do not meet the requirements of young students.
