This article aims to analyze if the school works gender and sexualities in the perspective of coping with and overcoming homophobia. The theoretical reference covers authors such as Scott, Butler, Louro, Grossi, Caetano, Junqueira, Borrillo, Miskolci, among others. A documentary research was developed on the Municipal Plan of Education and Political Pedagogical Project of School. We made observations in the school and interviewed five students, three people from the management team and four teachers who work in this class, totaling 12 interviews. The data were analyzed according to the qualitative content analysis method proposed by Mayring. The results indicate a presence of violent practices against students that unite a gender identity and sexual orientation different from heteronormativity. In addition, it was verified that in this class educational actions are not developed to combat the homophobia.
