This work originated from the development of an Academic Product, necessary for the completion of the main author´s professional master's degree, and aimed at the construction of a tool that helps in the identification of the profile of the mediating teacher. It is a quantitative-qualitative research based on a descriptive approach. The theoretical foundation deals with the Mediation Pedagogy, the Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) and the mediator teacher profile. The research was based on Vygotsky's studies on the proximal zone of development (ZPD), Feuerstein's paradigm, concerning the profile of the mediating teacher and the cognitive-constructivist didactic proposal, whose focus was to identify the didactic skills that are demanded of the teacher, while mediator of the teaching / learning process. With these foundations, an evaluation instrument called ProfMed was constructed and it is useful in any level or modality of teaching. The instrument consists of a semi-structured questionnaire divided into three parts: the first one refers to the competencies of the mediating teacher and the degree of agreement of the respondent to the sentences presented; the second consists of two open questions about teaching practice; and the third, the respondent's general data. In this article, we will deal only with the first part, which is limited to measuring the level of didactic mediation of the teacher based on the answers given. This measurement does not intend to be a test, where one would be approved or not, but it is an instrument that permits reflection of didactic practice with indicatives of areas to be worked through continuous training.
