This article is a result of the research that deals with indigenous school education with the aim of defining the schooling process of Mẽbêngôkre Gorotire, an indigenous community located in the municipality of Cumaru do Norte, in the state of Pará, in the light of the Thematic Oral History, with 14 participants , being 9 Mẽbêngôkre and 5 non-indigenous, and documental analysis constituted in the municipal and state scope. The schooling of the Mẽbêngôkre Gorotire is a recent one, begun in 1973 by the Evangelical Mission of Brazil and operated by various social agents, the National Indian Foundation, the Summer Institute of Linguistics, garimpeiros, loggers, the Protected Forest Association and the Gorotire themselves. , administratively and pedagogically by the City Hall of Cumaru do Norte-PA, through the Municipal Secretary of Education and State Secretariat of Education of Pará. The school process of this indigenous community presents itself in contemporary educational contexts, however with experiences that founded by many years in an instructive integrationist perspective and that, in a short time, was in the glimpse of conceiving it at the heart of autonomy and reaffirmation of its identity, above all through the re-significations established by the Gorotire themselves.
