Abstract

SANTOS, José Carlos dos  and  MOREIRA, Wagner Wey. Does the child's corporeity go to school?. Educação. Santa Maria [online]. 2020, vol.45, e42535.  Epub July 20, 2023. ISSN 1984-6444.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984644442535.

This article deals with results and discussions from clippings from a master's research that aimed to investigate whether the child who goes to school experiences corporeity. The writing was based on a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological and objective approach described, and was carried out in three public schools in Uberaba-MG, having as subjects 65 children enrolled in the first year of primary school. The non-participating observation was used and for the notes six field diaries. The findings allowed us to reflect on three central points: 1. the child body in evidence in the classroom - highlighting the actions and attitudes within the classroom; 2. being a full-body child - pointing out the relationships, experiences in school physical education classes; 3. inspiring children - weaving reflections on the existence of child body in the school environment. The study allowed us to reflect that the child experiences his/her freedom, child, creativity and intersubjectivity at almost every moment, both in the classroom and in school physical education classes. But there are manifestations that signal attempts to silence their corporeity.
