The purpose of this essay is to problematize the Competences Pedagogy as the principle of curricular organization for the higher education. Initially, the article present considerations on an idea of the university, understanding that the discussion this text start from a conception and a project of the university. Right after, intend develop a problematization of the Competences Pedagogy notion like a principle of the curricular organization. For this, this topic is subdivided in three moments. In the first, present reflections on the “competence” word etymology. Right after, intends to demonstrated that “competence” is a human characteristic of the second level. Finally, present some “collateral effects” of the Competences Pedagogy how principle of the curricular organization to higher education. Put this logic (start from a second level human characteristic) as principle of the curricular organization is a big mistake, with huge loss for the higher education.
