Abstract

UCZAK, Lucia Hugo; BERNARDI, Liane Maria  and  ROSSI, Alexandre José. The Temer government and the suffocation of the processes of democratization of education. Educação. Santa Maria [online]. 2020, vol.45, e33740.  Epub July 06, 2023. ISSN 1984-6444.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984644433740.

This article aims to present discussions about the current government of Michel Temer that, since the parliamentary and business coup of 2016, is increasingly close to the private sector mercantil in the creation of educational policies in Brazil, deepening the naturalization of the incorporation of the association between the public and private sectors. The present study explores evidence of the resizing of policies in progress from the Ministry of Education, the National Curricular Common Base, the action of the National Conference of Education - CONAE and the National Forum of Education. Based on bibliographical sources and documental research, it can be seen that this government is allied and supported by the private commercial sector with which it articulates proposals, expanding the market action in brazilian public education, both in proposition and in the implementation of policies, and, at the same time, has been taking measures that stifle the processes of participation and democratization of education.
