Abstract

MARTINS, Joira Aparecida Leite de Oliveira Amorim  and  FERREIRA, Nilce Vieira Campos. Academic community of women and internationalization at the Federal University of Mato Grosso. Educação. Santa Maria [online]. 2020, vol.45, e43909.  Epub Sep 01, 2023. ISSN 1984-6444.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984644443909.

The present article with a thematic focus on the history of feminine education aims to understand how the participation of women in the internationalization process of the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) was characterized. By bringing reflections on internationalization processes experienced at UFMT - federal higher education institution, located in the Center-West region of Brazil, founded belatedly in 1970,we analyzed the international women's mobilization in the institution between the years 1973 to 2016.We bring some reflections from the analysis of institutional documents such as legislation, scientific articles, web site pages and official documents collected in the institutional collection. It is understandable that there was no defined institutional policy regarding the internationalization of UFMT, as there is no equity of access in the profile of its participants, we identified, however, that women participated and contributed to UFMT´s internationalization processes.. Possibilities of activities and opportunities for women, however, still represent a small number in the internationalization movements. For us, it is clear that a higher education institution cannot do without public policies that encourage internationalization, but it must articulate viable initiatives and actions that promote equal access to institutional internationalization policies.
