This article aims to conduct a bibliographic survey about academic publications on the schooling of fishermen. For this, a mapping of the knowledge already elaborated in the area was carried out, pointing out the main analyses and their contributions, as well as the most investigated themes and methodological approaches used according to the procedural indicative of studies of this nature (ROMANOWSKI and ENS, 2006). To this end, we used in this investigation the publications indexed in the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) with regard to the work of completion of undergraduate, master and doctoral courses and also in Google Scholar as to scientific articles, in both situations with a term of 10 (ten) years. A total of thirty (30) academic publications were found that deal specifically with the theme of fishermen's schooling, whose approaches reaffirm the premise of education as a right of and it has also been observed a certain scarcity of publications in this field of knowledge.
