Abstract

MACEDO, Aldenora Conceição de  and  DEVECHI, Cátia Piccolo Viero. The Reconstructive hermeneutics in comparative education: an approach focused on learning with the “other”. Educação. Santa Maria [online]. 2022, vol.47, e64914.  Epub Oct 18, 2024. ISSN 1984-6444.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984644464914.

The article aims to present the contributions of the reconstructive hermeneutic approach to comparative studies in education. Part of the understanding of Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics, goes through the reconstructive reading of hermeneutics based on Habermasian thinking, to discuss comparative education from a learning perspective with the “other”. The debate is based on the understanding that reconstructive hermeneutics is an important strategy for discursive exchange between units of comparison, in which the “other” not only helps in understanding, but contributes to the argumentative treatment of problems. A research possibility to be built not only by interpretative meanings reached in a singular way, but by the strength of the rational argument before the “other” and the peers.

Keywords : Hermeneutics; Qualitative research; Intersubjectivity.
