The democratic management is being built in Brazil from the 1990s, coinciding with the period of reforms in education and a larger process, reform of the Brazilian State itself. This is a bibliographic research that has theoretical discussions on the topic under study as a reference. The analysis focus highlights the way in which the committed performance of the management team can enable the participation of all subjects involved in the teaching-learning process, developing, through shared management, an autonomy built by social participation, which allows the legitimation of theschool success and, consequently, the maturing of democracy in the country.
