Abstract

BORGES, Matheus Chiconato  and  HONORATO, Tony. Training in Physical Educationat UEL: historical trajectory of three courses (1968-2018). Educação. Santa Maria [online]. 2023, vol.48, e71143.  Epub May 19, 2025. ISSN 1984-6444.  https://doi.org/10.5902/1984644471143.

The present study aims to describe and analyze, through pedagogical course projects (PPCs), the historical trajectory of the Physical Education (licence and bachelor's degree) and Sport courses at the State University of Londrina - UEL (1968-2018). For the empirical research, the historical documentation of the respective courses, located in the UEL collections, was identified, consulted and cataloged. As theoretical support, the history of the present time (CHAUVEAU & TÉTART, 1999), the history of educational institutions (MAGALHÃES, 2004; 2005; 2007) and the curriculum as a social construction (GOODSON, 2018) were used. The analysis of the PPCs made it possible to explain a singularity of the UEL in the national reality, which was the simultaneous offer of three different types of professional training. The trajectories of the three courses investigated revealed initial training in the field of education, sport and health, having as a reference the legal provisions, power relations and social contexts. In closing, the reasons for continuities and discontinuities of professional academic training at the university in focus are presented.
