Considering that the COVID-19 pandemic generated uncertainties, anxieties and doubts regarding the different activities of the subject, even limiting the possibilities of research and its ways of collecting data, the internet has become the driving force and facilitator for the continuity of studies. The paper aims to analyze the possibilities of online application of the focus group method for data collection in qualitative research in education and its contribution to the continuity of studies in times of pandemic, besides the use of the theory of historical-cultural psychology for the analysis and discussion of data, as it views the relations and the appropriation of knowledge as peculiar forms in the subject’s development and emancipation.
