This article presents an analysis of the academic production, over the last ten years, on teacher performance evaluation (ADD) in Higher Education. The objective was to understand how the ADD is used in different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), how the academic community participates in this process and how the HEIs and professors appropriate the results of the ADD. As for methodological aspects, the study is characterized as a bibliographical research that allows an update of knowledge on the subject of ADD. The procedures for data collection involved consultation in the Capes Catalog of Theses and Dissertations and in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, and selection of articles published in five journals classified as Qualis A. The analyzes undertaken result from the interpretation and correlations established by the authors. The main results indicate the existence of two ADD perspectives that can be complementary and not exclusive: one of a regulatory nature and the other of a formative nature.
